Unraveling Ableism

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), LaVant Consulting, Inc. (LCI) is hosting their first-ever live virtual event aimed to address the core of understanding disability as a social justice issue: ABLEISM. Ableism, the discrimination and social prejudice against disabled people, is a significant barrier to creating truly inclusive workplaces and cultures at large. Unraveling Ableism will explain the underpinnings of ableism in three key ways: 1) Introducing the emerging framework of disability justice. 2) Exploring the intersections of disability and race. 3) Giving practical guidance on using inclusive language.
